Chapter 001

“I thought they said it was going to take a week to get here..” Prince Junsu whined as he stuck his head out of the carriage.

Right after Prince Junsu, Prince Yoochun stuck his head out to look around as he yawned, “Man..we’re here already….it’s only been 2 days… I still have 5 more days of bachelorhood left since we don’t have to head towards the gallows … I mean palace until the 7th day after we departed Asahi.”

As he continued to yawn, he caught a glimpse of the river side and noticed some lovely young maidens washing clothing on the river bank. Prince Yoochun whistled to catch their attention and when their gaze was fixed on the carriage, Prince Yoochun gave a sweet smile and little naughty wink that sent the maidens into a frenzy of giggles and blowing kisses.

“haha .. still got it…Hyungs.. since we are here early.. how about instead of heading straight towards our impending doom.. we dress up as common travelers and have a little adventure in the kingdom” Prince Yoochun said with a devilish smile on his face.

“But hyung aren’t you excited to go meet your future queen? I heard from mama that the Princesses are all great beauties and proper princesses… I wanna go meet my new sister- in laws… Jae Joong hyung.. don’t listen to Yoochun hyung.. let’s head straight towards the palace!!!” Prince Changmin, the youngest laughed as he pushed in between his two brothers from the carriage.

Both Yoochun and Junsu annoyed that their precious little brother was enjoying the fact that their freedom was slowly being taken away from them, gave him a smack in on the head. Prince Changmin screamed in pain and pouted, as he was about to yell out to his two eldest brother’s for help, Yunho and Jae Joong, but was shoved back into the carriage and locked in.

The two laughed and gave each other a high five as Prince Jae Joong ride up on their horses to the front of the carriage.

“ Stop the carriage…What are you two doing? And where is Changmin?” Yunho said sternly as he gave them both an evil eye glare.

“Oh.. he’s still asleep hyung… you know that boy.. if he isn’t eating .. he’s sleeping especially on long journeys.” Yoochun said nervously as he hit the door of the carriage to silence Changmin.

Jae Joong and Yunho look at each other, then glared at Yoochun and Junsu.

“Honest hyungs….” Junsu said putting on his most innocent face, “ we were just talking about how exciting it is already be in Cheonson, but how sad it is that we don’t have a chance to explore the kingdom before we go before the King and Queen…”

Yoochun jumps into the conversation, “ Yes it is…. Hyungs since we arrived 5 days ahead of schedule how about we set up camp here and go explore? Since they aren’t expecting us yet there shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Let me out!!! If you won’t let me out I’ll just keep on multiplying until I either die from suffocation or the carriage blows up!!!!” multiple Changmins screamed as they continued to bang on all sides of the carriage.

“Why is Changmin locked in the carriage???” Yunho said as his eyes began to glow.

Nervously Junsu and Yoochun shook their heads, “ We didn’t do anything…. Jae Joong hyung!!!!”

Jae Joong looked at Yunho, Yunho’s entire body was surrounded by electricity as he focused his gaze on his two frightened dongsaengs. Jae Joong sighed, waved his hand the energy surrounding Yunho dissipated and the door to the carriage burst open causing a single Changmin to fall out.

“Jae Joong hyung!!! You need to warn me first.. ouch.. my head..” Changmin whined.

“Thank you hyung!! You are the best!!! So much better than Yunho hyung” they cheered and then quickly stuck out their tongue out at Yunho.

“Hyung… they aren’t going to learn if you let them go so easily..” Yunho said to Jae Joong with a pout and then with a cold expression, “ As for you two…Hyung won’t be always with you to keep you from my divine punishment!!!”

“Go Yunho hyung!!!” Changmin jumped up and cheered. Noticing his two other hyungs evil looks, Changmin rushed to Jae Joong and jumped onto his horse for protection.

“It’s alright…no harm done.. right Minnie?” Jae Joong said as he began to make a funny face at Changmin and mess with Changmin’s hair. Changmin seeing his perfect hyung do this just to cheer him up, he nodded and gave him a hug, sneaking an opportunity to stick out his tongue at Yoochun and Junsu.

“See everything is fine Yunho.. let them be.. I actually think it’s a good idea.. lets go explore.. I want to enjoy my last free days before I give up my life to my country..” Jae Joong said as he looked at Yunho.

Yunho looked back with a disagreeing look but then thought about it what his hyung said and reluctantly, “Gaurds.. we will set up camp here and take notice to the Cheonson palace that we are ill and are unable to enter the palace until the planned day.”

Two guards bowed, one on his horse headed to the Cheonson palace while the other began to command the other soldiers to prepare to set up camp. Yoochun and Junsu cheered while Jae Joong let out a bitter sweet smile. Changmin happy that he was going to get a chance to play and taste new foods smiled and revealed his mismatched eyes.

Yunho sighed, “ Ok … let’s change into commoner clothes then. We will enter the capital city together…”

“Hyung… I say lets all explore separately… we won’t able to do everything we want if we stick together.” Yoochun said as grabbed his clothes.

“But I don’t want to go alone..” Changmin protested as he threw a piece of candy at Yoochun.

“Why you ?!?!?!”

“Don’t fight.. Minnie will come with me.. Yunho just let them do what they want… just remember that we are foreign to this land… don’t draw any unnecessary attention to yourselves … that means not using your magic …we don’t know if magic is used in thie kingdom so refrain from using your special skills ok ..And be back to camp by sundown… understand.. if not Yunho can make it clearer.. Isn’t that right Yunho?” Jae Joong said.

Yunho got of his horse and with a sinister smile he began to walk up towards Yoochun and Junsu. He cracked his knuckles and began to conjure lightning from his hands, “ Yes hyung… Yoochun.. Junsu.. please say you don’t understand and that I need to clarify..”

Yoochun and Junsu who had already jumped off the carriage and rushed to Jae Joong, “Yes … yes.. we understand…”

“Good then its settled then… Hyung.. while you are all exploring, I’m going to go scout out the palace and the surrounding area..” Yunho said as the lightning disappeared from his hands.

Changmin and Jae Joong who had changed already in the carriage nodded and began to make their way towards the city.

“Wait… hyung are you really going like that? Won’t you attract more attention like that..? Even disguised as a girl.. you still can’t hide your beauty…” Junsu said questioning Jae Joong’s choice of disguise.

Jae Joong shot an evil glare at Junsu, “ What did you say…” Though it was true that even disguised as a woman, Jae Joong’s natural beauty could not be hidden, but he didn’t like it his brothers or anyone called him beautiful.

“Oops sorry… I forgot.. Never mind then hyung… Well I’m off!!” Junsu waved, “See you tonight.”

But as he was about to take off, Yoochun wrapped his arm around Junsu’s neck, “ Hold on.. I’ll go with you” then he turned to his other brothers, “ See you later.. if I’m a little late.. you know what happened.. hehehe”

The two gave a mischievous smile and ran off. Yunho looked at them and turned to Jae Joong, “ Was this really a good idea?”

“It will be fine.. Come on Changmin, let’s go.. remember when I’m like this call me noona ok ?” Jae Joong said as he took his baby brother’s hand.

“Ok noona!!!” Changmin yelled giving a thumbs up.

“It doesn’t have to be that loud..”

“Oohh sorry noona… Noona.. “ Changmin said in a quieter voice with a pout on his face.

“Are you hungry?” Jae Joong asked as he began to pull on Changmin’s cheeks, “Ok.. first thing when we get into the city… we’ll find some snacks for you …I swear… you eat more than the four of us combined.”

“Ouch stop that!!! And its because I’m a growing boy and plus I need all the energy I can get to deal with you hyungs..”

“Ok ok …lets go..” Jae Joong said as he turned to Yunho, “Don’t worry about us.. just do what you have to do ok..”

Yunho bowed to Jae Joong and nodded. With that Jae Joong and Changmin walked off towards the city and Yunho took a different path heading towards the palace.

“Oppah… look” Bea said from up above.

“What is it Bea?” Jaelin said as she turned to look in the direction Bea was pointing.

“Why are there people setting up camp near the riverside at the edge of the city?”

The two looked down seeing the soldiers setting up camp from the sky. Bea and Jaelin who had just returned from a village miles away flew over the campsite that the Shin princes had set up.

Jaelin wondered what was going on and why there were strangers in their kingdom, “Hikari land ..” she commanded the phoenix the two were riding. As commanded the Blue phoenix landed in the forest near by and Jaelin got off.

Jaelin petted the phoenix, “Thank you Hikari.. Now take Bea home and then return to me ok ?”

The phoenix nodded and began to take off, but was stopped by Bea.

“Oppah.. I want to go with you… Please let me go with you..” Bea pleaded to her masked brother.

“No.. You were summoned to the palace .. you must go.. I will head to the palace as soon as I finish some business in town.. Remember the villagers said that there were some corrupt guards extorting and harassing the villagers.. I need to go find out the truth.” Jaelin said sternly.

“Won’t you get hurt?... No don’t go!!!”

“Silly girl..” Jaelin said as she walked up to her and gave her a pat on the head, “ Remember who you are talking to.. I’ll be fine..” and gave her a wink.

“But still… “

“Fine.. fine.. I won’t get involved.. just let me go instruct my …”

“Oh you mean BK unnie? Where is she? I haven’t seen her in a while? I miss her…” Bea said as she began to pet Hikari.

“haha umm.. she’s been around. She’s been on a special mission for me, but she sent word that she’s returned. I need to go see her and tell her to investigate this for me. When I’m done I’ll head to the palace ok?”

“Oppah… I love BK unnie.. and it seems like you and her are the perfect match… why can’t you just tell father and mother that you love BK unnie and bring her to the palace so we can get rid of Cousin Shelly… I really hate her.. always trying to hog you all to herself… She isn’t even really our cousin… she only uses that excuse to stay in the palace..” She pouted.

Jaelin sighed and then hit Hikari, “ Go Hikari!!!” and with that Hikari took off, “Tell mother and father that I will be home soon and make sure your noonas don’t destroy the palace while I’m gone…. Bye Bea..”

“You meanie!!!” Bea screamed as she waved.

Jaelin waved back and then headed into the deeper part of the forest, Jaelin began to recite and incantation. Just with the passing of a few trees, Jaelin’s clothes changed from that of a man’s to a woman’s from Cheonson’s Crown Prince, Jaelin to the warrior, Black Knight. With a serious demeanor Jaelin began to wonder who were those people at the edge of the city and what was their purpose. But before she could even investigate that she had to deal with the corrupt guards and officials that the villagers in the town she had just returned from mentioned were taking advantage of the people in the kingdom. Taking out her sword she recited another incantation and summoned a black horse. She got onto the horse and headed toward the city not knowing that she would encounter more the corrupt.. but 2 strangers.. one of which would bring her confusion, frustration, anger, stress, but more importantly a joy and love she had never felt before.

Prince Changmin: Has the ability to replicate himself, creating solid identical copies of himself. He often uses this ability to confuse others and play tricks on people. Also uses it when his hyungs decide to give him too many chores. [poor Minnie  ]. As great as a trick this is , it is also used when Changmin is in danger either to confuse the enemy or to defend since he is a skilled fighter.

Prince Yunho: Has the ability to command over lightning and gather and fire it as a weapon [how cool is that!! >u< ]. He can control it through his hands, with a quick glance or send the lightning through his sword. He rarely uses this ability during fights seeing that it is an unfair advantage over his opponent.. he would rather best his opponent with his own skills [such a cool prince!!! Where can I find one in real life??? >.<;;… oh wait.. there is one.. actually five.. DONG BANG SHIN KI hahahahah] Though he has this sense that to use this ability in a fight is not honorable… he does enjoy taking advantage of its persuading abilities when disciplining his younger brothers. [ O_O; Luck it’s not me.. sorry Yoochun.. Junsu..Minnie..]

Prince Jae Joong: has the ability to cancel out other’s magic abilities and well as to move/control objects either with a glance or a wave of his hand. The nullification comes in handy he has to step in and stop his brothers from destroying the palace when they fight and its just plain handy dandy to be able to move things around [^ ^v … Maybe that’s how he’s going to have that elephant..] He has a few more abilities that haven’t been revealed yet as well [Cuz like it or not he’s my male lead.. if you feel that its not fair.. you can comment on it… and I might take it into consideration to power him down… NOT!! Lol]

Prince/Princess Jaelin aka Black Knight: has a blue phoenix that she commands [how many fairytale princesses can say that huh?!? Isn’t she cool Y{^u^}Y She also has the ability to summon other creatures at her disposal. [Take that Yuna!! You aren’t the only summoner in town!!:P] She also is a spell caster..
